If you haven’t noticed this season is pure chaos! Between trying to visit family, planning parties and events around each other, trying to manage self-care and trying to pay bills while buying everyone gifts. Then to top it all off you are trying to manage your weight loss and health goals among the extra added stress this season. If you follow my Instagram(@sass_and _curls) you know my motivation and focus has fallen of the wagon during this time as well, which has prompted me to get back to my routine and to share that with y’all, so here are 4 things that keep me focused during chaotic periods.
1. Write out my goals
I don’t know how to stress the importance of this enough. I strongly believe in speaking things into existence and visualizing your goals. I have a dry erase calendar in my kitchen that houses my monthly goals. I add and remove to them as needed but I pass it everyday and it reminds me of what I want to achieve this month. Also my boyfriend leaves me sweet notes too.
2. Plan, plan, plan
One thing I have realized is if I don’t plan for dinner I will slip up. I have a dry erase board where I post what our dinner plans are. Monday we won’t be home but I’m preparing for the rest of the week. Also I tend to forgot the meals I went grocery shopping for so this helps me not only stay on track but not waste food. Planning out my meals keeps me on track and takes the guess work out of meals! Even plan out your workouts! Make a calendar event in your phone. Do what you need to do to stick to your plan to achieve your goals.
3. Find a reminder of your goal
Now this picture isn’t glamorous, but this is how I keep a reminder of my goal. This skirt greets me each morning and before I go to bed each night. It is currently to small for me to wear so I keep it visible to keep pushing me towards my goal. It is a constant reminder to make my goals a priority despite the holiday season,
4. Don’t be to hard on yourself
You are going to slip up. You are going to stress out. You might even feel unmotivated and low energy. This season is difficult for many people. Sometimes there is outside factors that make it beyond difficult to stay motivated, but friend I believe in you! I truly do. Take everyday and every meal one step at a time. You got this! A mistake doesn’t define your journey and that is the truth. One bad meal or even one bad day doesn’t mean your journey is over! In fact, it’s those difficult days that define your journey! So keep your head up! I know you go this!
Chaos seems to be a year round event for most people, but it seems to be enhanced during the holidays. Let me know in the comments some of the tips and tricks you use to stay afloat during the holiday!
