Well the year is coming to a close, very quickly I might add. Since I started my sustainable journey almost all the way through the year, I decided to make a worksheet to help others create green goals for the next year and also help you stay on track with those goals.
I think the S.M.A.R.T. goal outline is a very good way to outline your goals to make sure they are easy to obtain and the right goals for you. I used this outline in my worksheet which you can download here. How I Started In September I decided I wanted to begin living a more sustainable life. I started by buying and using less plastic. This means using reusable bags when I went to the store, buying things in cans versus plastic or not putting produce in plastic bags when I was shopping. The next thing I did was start recycling. I would put what I can into little bins in my room and take them to a place to recycle. Then I decided to reduce the amount of meat I eat. I started out by only eating meat once a day. Then I went down to only eating meat when I traveled. Now I do not eat meat at all, unless I cannot avoid it. If you are looking for other ideas you can read my previous post about ideas for steps to take to go green here.
My Goals for 2018
For 2018 I have a few goals
How to use the Worksheet The first thing you will do is print out the worksheet. This maybe seen as a waste of paper, but I find it creates more value and a longer impression to physically write out your goals and keep them around/hang them up some where to constantly remind you of your goals. To print the worksheet you will hit use template if you have a Canva account, if not you will create one real quick. Then you can download it then print it out. The next thing you will do is write out your goals using the S.M.A.R.T. goals outline. Once you finish with that, put the goals some where that you can easily see or find to remind yourself of your goals. Then every 3 months return to the worksheet to write out how you are doing with your goals and what you can do to improve on your goals. At the end of the year once you finish using the worksheet, make sure you recycle the papers. This is super important so we do not create unnecessary waste. Don't forget to access the worksheet here. I hope this worksheet helps you stick to your goals. Let me know in the comments some of your goals. Let me know if you stuck to your goals from this past year. Also share your tips to keeping goals if you have any. Love Always, Mikala
