Being Sick and a Vegetarian

About two months ago I decided to become a vegetarian and this past week I got a cold or the flu. It was super rough. One of the hardest things for me was finding food to eat. So the thing with me and my vegetarian journey is I still at this time eat dairy products. Today I am going to tell you some of the products and things I ate while I was sick.

One of the soups I ate which was really good was by Campbell's. It was part of their Well Yes! collection, sweet potato corn chowder. It was super delicious and easy to make. I ended up buying several more cans to eat during the three days I was sick.

One of my other favorite items was my banana mango smoothie I have been making. This took a little more effort to make but it was good to consume. It was filled with vitamins and protein that helped me feel better.

One of the bad things I ate when I was sick was ice cream. My throat hurt and I wanted something nice to soothe it so I decided ice cream would be a good idea. It was in that moment. I slightly regret it because of all that sugar, but I totally enjoyed it. I did go out to eat soup at a local restaurant. It came with meat so I asked them to not include it. It was really good.

I know being sick sucks, especially when you can't eat chicken noodle soup anymore because of the choice to be a vegetarian. I hope this helps you on your journey. If you have any go to tips or foods leave them in the comments.
Love Always,
Mikala

It was definitely a challenge especially being so low energy.

As a vegetarian as well, go to when sick is soup too! There are so many options for food when sick that can help heal us, but the problem is not being in the mood to prepare the food. I usually opt for lentil soup or vietnamese pho soup. I try to fuel up on lots of greens when sick too
